About:

This multidisciplinary Adapt Institute research report examines the transformation of the automotive industry driven by the emergence of software-defined vehicles (SDVs), which are increasingly shaped by software architectures, artificial intelligence, cloud connectivity, and over-the-air updates. Developed over a year-long research process, the publication applies a strategic foresight approach, combining qualitative analysis, expert interviews, horizon scanning, and scenario-building to explore long-term implications for Slovakia and the European Union.
As the layout and graphic designer, Ilchyshyn Studio was responsible for establishing the overall visual and structural framework of the publication. This included defining the document hierarchy (headings, subheadings, typographic system, colour palette) and ensuring full consistency with the organisation’s existing brand identity, in line with Adapt Institute’s brand kit. Particular attention was paid to maintaining visual coherence across chapters while translating complex research content into a clear, readable, and institutionally credible format suitable for digital distribution.
Working closely with the research team, Ilchyshyn Studio designed custom visuals and diagrams to support key arguments, illustrate system interdependencies, and clearly distinguish between analytical sections and future-oriented scenarios. The layout was developed to support long-form reading, structured comparison, and policy-focused navigation, ensuring accessibility for policymakers, industry stakeholders, and expert audiences.
The final outcome is a coherent, well-structured publication that reinforces the report’s analytical clarity while adhering to a neutral, professional visual language consistent with think-tank and policy research standards.
